People all over America are firing up their outdoor grills, getting ready for backyard cookouts. Whether it's hot dogs or steak, there's just something about that wonderful smell associated with outdoor grilling that keeps us coming back for more. Grilling out is a relaxing and happy way to cook, giving us a chance to unwind and spend some well-deserved time with our families. And, really, who wants to be cooped up inside slaving over a hot stove?

Here's a menu that's sure to be a hit at your next cookout, featuring tasty Southwestern Blue Cheese Burgers, Mac's Roasted Corn with Herb Butter, Ellie's Baked Beans and Good Ol' Southern Banana Pudding for dessert. Hungry yet?

Honey, go light the grill!

Southwestern Bleu Cheese Burgers
Tired of boring old cheeseburgers, I craved a burger that was delicious, yet out of the ordinary. When I came across this recipe for burgers with a Southwestern flair, I knew I just had to try it. The bleu cheese and chili powder infuse the burgers with a wonderful flavor, and the barbecue sauce and salsa mixture add a nice kick. Though the recipe instructs you to brush the burgers just once with the barbecue sauce mixture, we felt more sauce was needed. I'd suggest using the sauce as a topping, as well.

The kids will probably want to stick with the plain old cheeseburgers; however, an adventurous few may enjoy this burger as much as the adults. (I know when I was a kid I wouldn't eat anything that had bleu cheese in it!)
