| Breakfast-for-Supper Hotdish by Anne Kaluza |
| 10 to 12 slices bread (leftover buns work, too), cut into cubes 3 cups chopped ham, crumbled bacon or browned sausage 2 cups grated cheese, any variety 1/4 cup chopped onion 1 small package frozen broccoli, thawed 1 chopped tomato 1 1/2 cups milk 1/2 cup melted butter, slightly cooled 12 beaten eggs |
| Place bread cubes into a greased 9x13-inch baking pan. Layer the ham,
cheese, onion, broccoli and tomato over the bread. Combine the milk, butter and eggs. Pour over the top. (Pour slowly to allow the liquid to be absorbed.) Cover and refrigerate at least eight hours or overnight. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes to one hour. Let it sit about 10 minutes before serving. |
||
| You may use any combination of meats and vegetables that you
like (it's a great way to use up leftovers, so use whatever you have in the refrigerator). Just be
sure you don't add too many toppings or it will not cook properly. |
